Haha, thanks for your article. It reminded me of one of my defining moments in life.

One day when I was a boy the other kids in the family didn’t want to let me play with them. Not because they were rude or anything, they played a game of soccer and had an even number of players on the field. Adding another player would have given one team an advantage.

So I ran to the person I trusted the most with my grief and sadness: my grandmother.

She listened to me and said: “Chris, when the others don’t want to play with you, start your own game.”

“But then I am alone.”, I answered

“Don’t worry, other kids will come to play with you. And being alone for a bit isn’t a bad thing either”

Long story short: I started to set up a game of monopoly in my grandmothers kitchen on the floor. Other kids from the soccer game dropped in for food and water.

Few of them got curious and some joined me, as they were tired from playing on the field. Well, it put some tension on the soccer games set up, but that’s another story.

Since then, whenever I wasn’t on an engagement I started something and always other people joined.
