It is a great feeling to be accepted and welcomed. Getting positive feedback when I do something is making my day. Rejection is something I still don´t like much. Getting it directly into my face — what I do and think — sucks, to some people. I admit it is difficult — even at 45. And also people who simply ignore me.

There will always be three typical responses whenever I do something:

  • some will love it
  • some will ignore it
  • some will hate it

The first one is easy to deal with. It is, of course, charming to hear that my actions are perceived as great. But do not overindulge into this feeling. The second one being ignored, well, it starts getting on the negative side of emotions. Ignorance. I am doing, and nobody cares. It is tricky sometimes. The third one is a feeling of its own. It taps into rejection.

Fear of Rejection is something that many people face. And it can have a powerful impact on our lives. Maybe it is biologically wired from the ancient days when it was vital to belong to a tribe for the very purpose of increasing the stakes of survival in a hostile environment.
